DR CRIS SERPICO
DVM
Dr. Chris went to Loyola University for undergrad and graduated from the University of Illinois college of Veterinary Medicine in 2002. He bought Rising Sun Vet clinic in 2007. Dr. Chris is trained in Traditional Chinese Veterinary Medicine in acupuncture, Chinese herbs and food therapy. In his spare time, he collects comic books and Star Wars toys. He is also a big fan of Batman. He frequently trains for American Ninja Warriors as well.
DR LISA SERPICO
DVM
Dr. Lisa went to the University of Illinois for undergrad and graduated from their veterinary school in 2001. She worked at 2 animal hospitals before coming to rising sun in 2007. She is trained in Traditional Chinese Veterinary Medicine in acupuncture and Chinese herbs. Her favorite thing to do is surgery and she performs most of the critical surgeries at RSVC. When she is not at work, she is busy taking care of her 4 kids plus household full of pets. Her favorite past times are reading, shopping, traveling and k dramas.
DR CARA
DVM
Dr. Cara joined Rising Sun Veterinary Clinic in 2016. She graduated from Ross University in 2014 and finished her clinical year at Purdue University.
She enjoys the daily challenges of veterinary medicine and has a special interest in preventative medicine, dentistry, and animal behavior.
She shares her home with her husband Nathan, her three children- Theodore, Jackson, and Owen and many pets over the years.
Outside of work she enjoys spending time with her family and friends, traveling and spending time outdoors.
MARIA
VETERINARY TECHNICIAN
Happily, employed at Rising Sun Vet Clinic since 2000. Some say I came with the building. I love what I do. I enjoy interacting with patients and owners alike. The staff and clinic are my second family and home and I cherish my time with these wonderful people.
KAREN
VETERINARY TECHNICIAN
Karen has joined the team since 2017. She went to Joliet Junior College to get her degree for Veterinary Technician, graduated in May 2019.She likes to spend her free time playing video games and watching movies with her husband. She also spends her weekend with her baby and her 5fur babies (1 dog, 3 cats, 1 rabbit).
CRYSTAL
VETERINARY TECHNICIAN
Crystal has been veterinary technician for 15 years. She graduated from Bel-Rae Institute in Denver Colorado where she received her associate degree in applied sciences of veterinary medicine in 2006. Crystal’s passion for animals has led her to a little zoo of her own consisting of three dogs, two cats, three sugar glider, three chinchillas, two leopard geckos, a bearded dragon, a read eared slider, and a tropical fish tank. Outside of work, she is kept busy by her husband and their two girls. She enjoys spending time with her family. Bowling, and gardening.
SANDY
VETERINARY TECHNICIAN
Sandy was hired by Dr Chris in 2012 as a veterinary assistant and graduated from Associate Degree in Veterinary Technology in 2014. Passed the National veterinary certification in 2014 as well. Sandy is married, has 2 human children and 3 furry ones as well as a bunny rabbit.
JULIANNE
VETERINARY TECHNICIAN
Julianne has worked at Rising Sun since 2011. She has a BS degree in Animal Science from The University of Illinois. She has been a licensed certified veterinary technician since 2015. Julianne currently works on Saturdays and loves the opportunity to come once a week to help take care of all the dogs and cats we see. When she is not at work you will find her with her husband John, their son Evan and their cats and dogs.
